NFL Recap: Denver Narrowly Beat Struggling Jets in Defensive Battle

In a low-scoring contest this weekend, the Denver Broncos clinched a close victory over the winless New York Jets. Quarterback Bo Nix connected on a first-quarter touchdown pass and specialist Wil Lutz provided the late decisive three-pointer to secure the hard-fought win.

Dominant Display Seals Contest

Despite recording nine sacks versus Jets quarterback Justin Fields, the Broncos were behind 11-10 after conceding a two-point play in the third quarter. Interestingly, the Jets could only produce a mere 82 total net yards during the entire game.

Nix, who completed 19 of 30 passes for 174 yards, led a decisive 12-play, 65-yard drive that culminated in Lutz's 27-yard kick with approximately five minutes left.

Record Difficulties for Jets Offense

Despite their dismal offensive display, the Jets maintained possession with a chance to score a potential victory. But Fields was sacked on fourth-and-eight from the Denver 44 after coach Aaron Glenn opted to attempt the conversion rather than calling on specialist Nick Folk for a difficult field-goal attempt.

The Jets quarterback struggled all game, completing just 9 of 17 passes for 45 yards. The Jets finished with minus-10 net yards passing, the fewest in any contest since 1998.

"Our passing game was completely absent," the coach commented after the contest.
